What is Rotary?

We are business and professional leaders joining together to make an impact on our local and global communities. Learn how we can do more with you!

Rotary International is the world’s first service club. The first club was the Rotary Club of Chicago, Illinois, USA. The club was formed February 23, 1905 by lawyer Paul Harris and three friends. The name “Rotary” was derived from the early practice of rotating meetings among the members’ offices.

The Rotary Club Springdale, Arkansas, is an affiliate of Rotary International. We are an organization of business and professional leaders united worldwide to provide humanitarian service, encourage high ethical standards in all vocations, and help build goodwill and peace in the world. Springdale members have the option of attending weekly meetings locally on either Monday at noon or Thursday morning. Our Monday meeting is at the Jones Center for Families, Room 228, 922 East Emma Avenue in Springdale. Doors open at 11:30 a.m. for our noon meeting, and the program begins at noon.  Our Thursday meeting is at Black Apple Cider, 321 East Emma Avenue in Springdale. Doors open at 7:30 a.m for our morning meeting, and the program begins at 7:45 AM.

Since being chartered in 1925, the Rotary Club of Springdale has maintained an impressive commitment to camaraderie among its members and service to the community. The Springdale Rotary Charitable Trust Foundation, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit entity, funds many of the Club's projects. The Rotary Club of Springdale, with over 150 members, is active locally and globally providing service in many areas.
