The Springdale Rotary Club announced on January 17, 2017, the creation on a new scholarship designed to help students to obtain the foundation skills necessary for 21st century jobs that can compete in our changing economy. The Springdale Rotary Workforce Readiness Scholarship fund provides support to a graduate of an accredited public high school in Springdale pursuing a vocational degree or certification.
The $1,000 scholarship may be renewable annually for up to two years, providing the student maintains a 3.0 cumulative academic achievement. The Springdale Rotary Club will award two scholarships per year starting in the spring of 2017. The Scholarship will be housed at the Springdale Public Schools Education Foundation.
Applicants may apply starting February 1, 2017 at www.spsef.org. Criteria for the scholarship recipients is determined by a selection committee and may include, but is not limited to, financial need, unusual circumstances, work experience and academic performance. The application deadline for the initial scholarships is April 1, 2017.
